Cover Story: The Carnival Is In Town

“I would have loved to get into the meat of the issue: those clowns who are running for the Republican nomination,” says Bruce McCall, this week’s cover artist. “But I just didn’t feel there was any way to do that and still talk about the primaries overall. I had to keep an even hand—but that’s also why I painted it as a sort of carnival.”
